Planned Giving
Be part of the future of Children’s Friend!
Making a planned gift is a wonderful way to ensure that Children’s Friend and its mission to improve the well-being and healthy development of Rhode Island’s most vulnerable young children are secure in perpetuity.
In your planning, you may find a planned giving vehicle that lets you address your own personal, financial, and estate planning goals, and also allows you to create a legacy that will extend the benefits of your generosity far into the future.
Exploring Your Options
There are several ways to give, and we encourage you to explore your options. We’ll work closely and confidentially with you and your advisors to achieve your financial and philanthropic goals.
Deferred Planned Gifts: These gifts are received only after the donor passes. Bequests are either a specific amount or a percentage and are allocated in a will. Life insurance plans or remaining retirement plan balances are some others.
Options for Planned Gifts that Pay Income: Charitable gift annuities, charitable remainder annuity trusts, charitable remainder unitrusts, and pooled income funds. A financial advisor can provide further information.
Appreciated Stocks, Mutual Funds, and Bonds: These may be transferred to the agency at the time of maturity or to reduce capital gains tax. Again, please consult your financial advisor for direction.
For more information or instructions for the transfer of securities, please contact Sara Masri, Director of Major Gifts and Estate Planning, at 401.603.8427 or fundraising@cfsri.org.
The legal name of Children’s Friend is Children’s Friend and Service for planned giving purposes. Children’s Friend is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt non-profit organization, Federal Tax ID number 05-0258819.
The Harriet Ware Society
Named for the agency’s founder, honors those who help to ensure that we can continue to meet the needs of our state’s most vulnerable children long into the future. Individuals who notify us of their creation of a legacy qualify for this recognition. Your generosity has a great impact on the future and well-being of our children and we want to honor your commitment.
If you have already named Children’s Friend in your will, or have created another legacy giving instrument, we hope that you will give us the opportunity to acknowledge your commitment to the organization.
