The Rhode Island Head Start Association is pleased to announce its 7th annual Early Childhood Parent Conference. The conference will take place virtually each Wednesday in May, beginning May 5, 2021, from 9:30-12:30 and is free of charge.
This series will feature a dynamic array of workshops facilitated by both early education professionals and parent leaders. Topics include Transition to Kindergarten, Navigating the Public School Special Education Services, Community Library Resources, Children’s Nutritional Health, Parent Self Care, and many more!
As always with this conference, several workshops will focus on preparing parents whose children are transitioning out of Early Head Start and Head Start and into the public schools. We know that this transition is exciting, and also sometimes overwhelming for children and their families. These workshops will address the social-emotional needs of young children and equip parents with the tools they need to foster positive mental health for their children.
Our conference aims to provide education and support as we empower parents to take an active and engaged role in their children’s education. Throughout the conference, parents will have the opportunity to ask questions and receive answers from experts in the field.
Once again, Children’s Friend is proud to be a member of Rhode Island’s Head Start Association and we look forward to another amazing Early Childhood Parent Conference.
