On January 27, 2020, Rhode Island KIDS COUNT held it’s second annual Celebrating Young Children Luncheon. There were over 200 attendees at the event, including elected officials, state department staff, and private agencies, to celebrate progress, discuss future goals, and to recognize the commitment of leaders who strive to meet the needs of vulnerable young children and their families.
At the event, Children’s Friend received a Young Children’s Champion Award in recognition of our Early Intervention and Home Visiting programs. Luncheon guests heard the story of a Children’s Friend client who is currently enrolled in Early Intervention and Early Head Start home visiting. The story highlighted the strong relationships that our dedicated staff build with their clients. Through relationship building and high-quality service delivery we were able to see how this client achieved her goal of “giving my daughter the best possible start in order to lay the foundation for success in school and later on in life.”
