Fostering Families-Kinship Foster Families
Statewide
Referral Required
Fostering Families addresses the needs of kinship foster families, where children reside with relatives, such as aunts, uncles, grandparents, siblings, or extended family.
Family Preservation Workers conduct bi-weekly home visits to support the family and reduce the risk of children experiencing removal from kinship care. A Family Preservation Nurse also provides developmental milestone assessments, addresses medical issues of the family, and ensures children are up to date on physicals, immunizations, and dental care. The nurse also assists parents with health education.
