For my final blog post with Children’s Friend, I’d love to highlight an amazing project that our Innovation Lab has been working on. Please read Innovation Manager Josh Wizer-Vecchi’s blog below and vote for Children’s Friend!

In the summer, Children’s Friend was accepted to participate in the 2021 Nonprofit Innovation Lab led by Social Enterprise Greenhouse and the United Way of Rhode Island with five other Rhode Island nonprofits. After three months of weekly sessions on problem definition, innovation, design, and implementation, we entered a pilot phase. For Children’s Friend, this was an opportunity to dig deeply into how we make innovation a part of what we all do.
We worked with a team of coaches to design and answer our question: “How might we involve everyone at Children’s Friend in making changes that make things easier for staff and better for families?” As our participation and pilot wrap up, we’re excited to share some big news.
We’ll be on Rhode Island PBS to share our work, along with all the other Nonprofit Innovation Lab participants! And starting today through January 25, you can watch a preview and vote for a “People’s Choice Award” here. Then, on February 7, tune in to see us and the other Innovation Lab participants share our final “pitch!”
See you there!
